Kin Karisa, the CEO of Next Media Services, conducted the proceedings of the event and warmly welcomed all esteemed guests and participants. Briefing the attendees about the campaign, Mr. Kin unveiled their mission, which was to plant about 15 million trees across Uganda over the next three years targeting to reduce carbon emissions and address the pressing matter of global warming.

Frank Tumwebaze, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry & Fisheries. Hon. Frank K Tumwebaze, the respected Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry & Fisheries, praised Next Media Services for its substantial role in promoting environmental conservation in Uganda. Minister Tumwebaze expressed delight at Next Media Services’ efforts in raising awareness about the significance of planting trees to counteract climate change, adding that this initiative aligns with the national mission’s main objective of planting 40 million trees annually. Additionally, the Minister announced his endorsement for Next Media Services’ 15 Million Trees campaign, noting that it reflects the national intentions for comprehensive forestry management. Minister Tumwebaze focussed on collaborating with both the public and private sectors to maximize the missions’ environmental sustainability outcomes.
Addressing the gathering about the significance of trees, Director Hon. Tom Obong Okello underscored how tree plantation plays a major role in protecting the environment. As with the National Forestry Authority, Director Okello encourages organizations to support the planting initiative in their pursuit of total conservation that will result into building sustainability in the future.
This ambitious scheme, the 15 Million Trees Campaign, is set to be implemented by Greening Africa- an environmental conservation enterprise which masterminded the accomplished event, Greening Hoima- bringing together over 10,000 people culminating to the planting of over 50,000 trees in just a day.
During a press statement, CEO of Hostalite Limited and founder of Greening Africa, Dickson Mushabe, shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration with Next Media Services. He looked forward to seeing successful implementation of the initiative on a national scale, with an emphasis on the importance of replanting trees to battle climate change. “By taking collective action, this effort aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of promoting environmental sustainability.” he concluded.
